Melanie and I have been members for two years this spring. We moved from the "Windrifter Yacht Club" for two reasons; size of the boat we purchased and the inability to bring our furry children onto our boat at our previous mooring. The friendly and welcoming attitude we found at the WCYC was a refreshing change for us, reinforcing our decision to make that move. The Marina staff has always been pleasant and helpful, making sure that our boating experience was a pleasant one. Since joining we have enjoyed the good fellowship and relaxed atmosphere, not at all what we imagined a yacht club would be like. It is becoming more than a place to keep our boat, it is now a fun place to stop in town even when we are not heading out on the big lake. --John and Melanie Ratcliffe
My wife and I joined to have a place for our boat and to enjoy the water front of the lake. The social aspect is a bonus for us. I was proud to serve on the board for 2 years and was happy to do that. When we don't use the boat we enjoy sitting on the deck and we might have lunch or just a refreshment!!!--Duane and Kathie Cleak
When I moved to Wolfeboro from the New Jersey shore I wanted to bring my 1983 Catalina-25 with me, but she needed a home. I researched all possibilties on the lake and was lucky to find the WCYC. My first summer I got a mooring as a non-member. It was so convenient and everyone was so friendly that me and my new partner decided to join the club. When we thought about it, we would be saving a lot of money over other marinas for winter and summer storage, plus we had a lovely club house to use, nice people to socialize with, and for the price of membership we were buying a share of prime waterfront property. We are not wealthy people--just teachers--and all of the other members we have met are friendly, easy-going folk who just love the lake. We look forward to many, many years of incredible sailing adventures and building community with the WCYC. Best place on the lake, bar none. --Cate and Dianna
Although I first came to Wolfeboro in 1939, my connection with Northeast Marina began in 1956 when we left Brook and Bridle Inn after many years and built our present home on Springfield Point. At that time I purchased at Northeast Marina a Thompson lapstrake, a neat little boat which somehow I wish I still had. This marina, boat yard connection, however, has only gotten better over the years, now transformed into the WCYC, certainly a first-class organization. All of you, and those before you, who have contributed so much to making the WCYC what it is today are the ones to be recognized. --Rob Campbell
We joined WCYC in July of 2005. The reason for joining is that we purchased a home in Wolfeboro which is part of an association ; our home has water access but no boat dock-we are on a list. In order for us to utilize our boat ( we were originally day sailors but now have a different boat and have a slip at WCYC), it was necessary to join a club that had direct access to the lake.--Dick and Linda Duarte
